How the Program Works

It’s easy – as an Employer, all you need to do is fill out the simple registration form and submit it online.  The employment providers will review your submission and match it with trained and qualified applicants that could fulfill the employment opportunity quickly and easily.  You review the list we provide and can then decide to interview a few matches, or you can ask the provider to send you the best match for an interview.

Why Should You Register?

Not all employers have HR departments that can assist them with locating and hiring new employees.  We understand that time is money in the private sector; and that posting an opportunity, reading through submitted resumes, interviewing and hiring a new employee can be very time consuming.  We are here to help you find the right matches for your business and to ensure that all of the necessary training requirements are in place.  We will also foster the relationship between you and your employee where necessary.

How We Train Workers

Most workers have education, training and experience that relates to their employability and many of them also have additional training such as WHMIS, Smart Serve, and customer service skills.  We have the ability to ensure that all training requirements that an employer is looking for in a candidate are fulfilled on a case-by-case basis.  Essentially, we will aim to provide you with an employee that meets all of the requirements of the position you are looking to fill.

How We Find Workers

We find employees through the Employment Innovations Initiative.  This pilot program takes a regional approach to finding appropriate employees for employers.  The potential employees come from a pool of trained, ready-to-work clients that are currently receiving social assistance through Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program – non-disabled and Ontario Disability Support Program – disabled.  The regional approach allows us to find the best qualified employees from Hearst and Timmins all the way down the Highway 11 corridor to Muskoka and Parry Sound.

How We Make it Accessible

We are trying to streamline the opportunities for businesses to register employment opportunities easily and want to ensure the best trained and qualified potential employees are placed in these meaningful employment opportunities.  We also have other training and support services in place where necessary so that employees who are a close match can complete the needed training.

We are currently working with employment service providers throughout the region that actively seek employment opportunities for clients.  It is our ultimate goal to help these partners fill training gaps and find easier ways for employers to find the trained workers they are looking for.

We are partnered with 17 Chambers of Commerce through the region to cultivate advertising opportunities and organize job fairs, where we can help businesses find the employees they need.

We want to build a database of employers that are seeking full-time, part-time, contract, seasonal, and temporary employees, but most importantly, we want to make this work for you – the employer.  Minimizing employee turn over, the time it takes to hire and train employees, and ensuring the right fit between employers and employees benefits everyone!
